Partners & Initiatives

Memberships

THUN holds active memberships in the key organizations of the bicycle industry. This helps the company stay close to developments in technology and the market.

ZIV (German Bicycle Industry Association)
THUN has been a member of ZIV for 45 years, contributing to its sustainability and HR working groups throughout. This continuity means THUN follows shifts in standards and industry requirements as they develop, which feeds into how it builds its components.

ECI (European Cycling Industries)
Through ECI, THUN contributes to sustainability and market development discussions at European level. This keeps THUN's work informed by the regulatory and strategic context its OEM partners operate in.

Partners

THUN works with partners from the design and early innovation stage. The aim is to develop forward-looking solutions with clear responsibilities from the outset.

Gates / Universal Transmission (UT)
THUN maintains a sales and service partnership with Gates and Universal Transmission (UT), a specialist drivetrain distributor. Together, the partners define compatible Gates and THUN drivetrain components: bottom bracket sets that match Gates belt drive systems and support both established bikes and newer drivetrain configurations. Each partner manages its own OEM supply. For the aftermarket, UT distributes compatible THUN bottom bracket sets and reference components across the DACH and Benelux regions. Manufacturers and service partners have a clear picture: what fits, who supplies it, and where to get it.

Initiatives

THUN participates in industry forums and working groups focused on technical exchange and standardization. It brings that input back into its product development and partnerships.

Bike Brainpool
THUN takes part in Bike Brainpool, a strategic industry exchange organized by Velokonzept. This initiative brings together manufacturers, developers, and infrastructure specialists around cycling mobility, keeping THUN's teams close to industry discussions as they happen. That knowledge feeds into how products and partnerships develop.

DIN e. V.
THUN contributes to DIN committee work, bringing manufacturing experience into standardization processes. Components developed in this context are already aligned to relevant standards, which reduces uncertainty for partners at the point of series production.
