The entire production is run with statistical process control and advanced CAQ software (SYNCOS MES ®). All products are approved through powerful validation methods like optical and sensory 3D measurement. Essential tools from the lean 6 Sigma model are constantly being employed: FMEA, KAIZEN, CPK analysis, etc. Industry 4.0 is demonstrated through digital interfaces between employees, machines, products, resources and processes. Thun’s sophisticated quality and process management is certified as per ISO 9001:2015. Another strength is Thun’s excellent supply capacity which allows for global OEM orders to be shipped in a matter of hours.

The cold forging technology is introduced.

Alfred Thun II joins the business.

Alfred Thun II introduces cold forging technology for crank arms.

The first square-tapered bb-set is produced.

The THUN group employs a total of 2000 employees at numerous international subsidiaries.

The technological global market leadership is achieved with regards to crank sets.

International locations are given up and Ennepetal becomes the focused production site.

Stella-Béatrice Thun joins the business.

Christian Alfred Thun and Alexander Thun join the business as fourth generation.
