Since February 3rd, 2020 Leury Kerpen has taken on the role of CSR Manager at Thun. He has a degree in Biology and Business Management, and also has several years of U.S. work experience in the fields of Agile Project Management, Learning & Development, Facilitation, Marketing Communication, and Information Technology, all of which are going to make him a great asset for the topic of CSR. At Thun he will establish clear structures of efficient sustainability management throughout the organization. As a first step, he will define Thun’s CSR objectives and CSR strategies and publish them in the company’s first official sustainability report, which is to be released at the end of 2020.

CSR stands for Corporate Social Responsibility and is divided into 4 fields of action: environment, workplace, market and community. In all these areas, Thun wants to position itself as one of the pioneers in the bicycle industry in terms of sustainability and has therefore created the position of CSR Manager.

Alfred Thun, CEO of Thun, is pleased that sustainability will now play an even greater role at Thun: “Sustainability should be part of any business’s best practice, especially in the bicycle industry. It is time for all of us to take concrete action. The topic has been with us in our family and our company for a long time. Now we are putting our money where our mouth is. Our goal is to move people sustainably.”

“Minimalism, efficiency, and sustainability are values I adhere to in the workplace as well as in my personal life. I am very much looking forward to shaping the sustainable vision of Thun and to bring it even more to life by establishing a CSR culture with corresponding processes and measures,” said Leury Kerpen on his entry into Thun.
