Just as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary, Fritz G. Baumgarten has joined the Thun management team in a dual role: as Director of Sales at Thun Germany and as Executive Director at Thun Tianjin. Having spent two decades with Campagnolo in Italy, USA and Germany, Fritz is an industry expert in bikes and bicycle components. Furthermore, he worked at a Kymco subsidiary for seven years, giving him extremely valuable experience in the pedelec and light electric vehicles (LEV) market.

He is bursting with ideas, but has identified three key priorities for the coming months: “First and foremost, I plan to focus on building, training and empowering our global sales team and refining and expanding the overall sales process,” he says. “Secondly, we need to enter new markets, both geographically and technologically. It’s important to make sure that Thun plays a part in disruptive developments such as the e-mobility boom. And last but not least, I will be keeping a close eye on the market to anticipate future trends. This will enable me to help the company face the challenges of its next century, such as digitalization and business intelligence, players from other industries venturing into the bicycle sector, and the growing demand for urban and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.”

Customers and industry partners are welcome to stop by the Thun booth and meet Fritz later this year at the Shanghai Show/China Cycle in May or at Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in September.
